Knowledge Exchange Through Immersive Technology
This project explores the transformative potential of Extended Reality (XR) in education and industry. Through hands-on activities like Applicant Open Day Sessions and the Digital Well-being Conference, the project demonstrates how immersive technology can foster collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
VR Prototype
This project aimed to explore VR design and rapid prototyping, incorporating human-centered design principles, interactivity, and immersive user experience. I developed a functional prototype and facilitated playtesting to gather essential user feedback, which was used to improve the VR application’s usability and engagement iteratively. This hands-on approach allowed for the refinement of both the technical and experiential elements, ensuring the final prototype met user needs effectively.
UI Prototyping in Unity
This project focuses on expanding the capabilities of an XR application by integrating a well-designed user interface (UI). The goal is to enhance the overall user experience by implementing UI elements that provide essential information and intuitive interactive controls within the virtual environment. By designing and testing the UI, the project aims to deliver a more engaging and user-friendly interface that seamlessly complements the immersive experience.
Unity’s XR Interaction Toolkit
Exploring the transition of an existing 3D scene into an interactive VR application using Unity’s XR Interaction Toolkit. By setting up the XR origin and implementing interactors and interactables, the aim is to allow users to engage with and navigate through the XR environment, offering a preview of the immersive and interactive experiences the application aims to provide
Utilising Unity to Prototype XR Applications
Exploring the composition of a 3D scene in Unity, leveraging ProBuilder for rapid prototyping and incorporating assets from external sources to enhance the XR environment. This process bridges the gap between design documentation and the virtual space, fostering a comprehensive understanding of Unity’s capabilities for XR development.
Designing for Extended Reality
Human-centered design principles are applied to create thorough documentation outlining an XR application’s vision. This documentation serves as a roadmap for the prototyping phase, ensuring that the XR experience is user-centric and aligned with technical and practical considerations for seamless development.
Reducing Diagnostic Bias with VR Training
Exploring Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Through Edstutia’s ICXR Program The XR Training Module was designed to address the issue of diagnostic overshadowing within healthcare, especially for patients with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. The project used immersive VR and AR experiences to train healthcare professionals (nurses, doctors, paramedics) to overcome diagnostic biases and improve […]
